Just so people can actually see a source for this instead of just accepting what someone said on reddit as "fact" (since that's unproductive and dangerous), here's the official mn.gov faq for it.
Can I be outside my house (on my property) after 8 p.m. and before 6 a.m.?
Yes.
Edit:
They edited it to say:
Yes. You can be on your porch, yard, patio, etc., but if a law enforcement officer or other public safety official asks you to go inside, or take any other action, you must follow the instruction.
I don't think I've ever seen such bullshit in my life.
Edit 2: I posted this change they did to twitter. It would mean a lot if you could share it to get the word out. I genuinely haven't seen such bullshit before.
It's infuriating that they would change a FAQ that citizens likely look to for advice, only for the advice to be changed after the police cause a really shitty thing like this.
Edit 3: Someone mentioned the following, which I think is important:
For the purposes of this Executive Order, a “public place” is any place, whether on privately or publicly owned property, accessible to the general public, including but not limited to public streets and roads, alleys, highways, driveways, sidewalks, parks, vacant lots, and unsupervised property.
Emergency Executive Order 20-68
Unfortunately, this wasn't included in the actual FAQ. I think, sure, the executive order where they said this is included as a link at the top, but do you think most people are really going to click a link buried in a paragraph and then read that too?
I think this was a major, major oversight. This should have been included in the FAQ, and I have no idea why they didn't copy that exact paragraph into the updated version.
I don't think their intention was to allow the cops here to be this aggressive for no reason, and obviously it's legally justified for them to use that aggression when necessary.
However, they clearly overstepped their boundaries here by firing upon someone without at least warning them further and in more detail on why they need to be inside, or that the executive order requires them to be inside.
I don't think all cops are bad, but the bad cops and oversights like these just make the whole situation worse.
Edit 4: It has come to my attention that the Internet Archie's data for for that page has somehow been modified so you don't see the previous version anymore.
I have no idea how this was done. This should be literally impossible.
Edit 5: It appears the capture at 16:57:25 was deleted from the Internet archive.
Edit 6 (06/03/2020): Looks like the old archives are finally back. Not sure why they were missing in the first place
Thanks for posting a link. Another one worth noting is this:
If I am stopped by police, what will happen?
Peace officers will inquire about the reason for you are in a public space during curfew hours. All Minnesotans in Minneapolis and Saint Paul are urged to voluntarily comply. Peace officers will enforce the curfew and arrest those who refuse to comply.
Note that. Arrest. If they're not complying. Not shoot at. Not gas. Arrest. And that only applies to people who aren't complying. This family was complying with the curfew. They were unarmed.
Edit in italics for the Redditors whom God didn't see fit to bestow with the ability to understand context.
You're sitting alone or playing cards with someone, and there is the "normal background noise" of too many people all speaking quietly. A constant drone you learn to ignore. Suddenly there's yelling. It breaks up the normalcy and the first time it happens, it's jarring. You stop, look around. Deer in headlights. Then suddenly everything is chaos and fear. This turns people into cattle, easier to herd.
The more you go through it, the less panic there is. You see it in the eyes of those around you, which ones are panicking, which ones are calm, which ones are angry. Situations like these, your mind adapts to protect you. You learn to function through the instinctive fear.
This is not a good thing to be teaching people. When people in positions of authority make you feel as less than human, you eventually may begin to see yourself as less than human. Those that feel out of touch with their humanity are capable of things humans don't do. Things that morals keep them from thinking.
They could have had one or two officers go to the front of the walk, and say, "it's dangerous out here. Please go inside. We can't move along until you go inside." The people filming were confused, maybe a little afraid. If you speak to them as people, they can respond in kind. All officers should at least try to deescalate situations. If this continues, it's only going to get worse on all sides.
Edit: I wasn't expecting this comment to get as much attention as it did. And there are some who either didn't understand, or still tried to defend the actions taken here by police, or claimed I was exaggerating. Many people replied to my comment, and then deleted their own.
So I'll elaborate.
You absolutely begin to see yourself as less than human. It becomes part of your language. I worked for the education department when I was incarcerated, and needed access to a chair that one of the plain clothes women had set her purse on. I asked her if she could please move it, so I could get the chair.
She scoffed and said, "it isn't that heavy, you can move it yourself."
And I used humor as a way of lightening the situation usually, so I laughed and said, "nah, I can't touch real people's property." And shrugged and smiled in a sort of, 'forgive me for bothering you' way.
And she stopped and said, "what, you're not a real person?"
I hadn't thought of it, but I realized then that no, to myself, in my own mind, I wasn't a real person. Inmates, myself included, referred to the guards as CO's and officers, we referred to the medical staff as nurses or doctors, we referred to the plain clothes workers as "real people" and we ourselves were simply inmates. Anyone with a job title held authority. Anyone in plain clothes had a life. We had neither of those things. We were not "real people."
And it made me incredibly sad. And it took a long time, longer than I would like to admit, to change that way of thinking when I was released. I did not see myself as a real person. I did not see myself as deserving the same rights as others. I was less. And when you're less than, you will do whatever you need to in order to survive.
I don't know why it needs to be said but; living this way is not healthy. I truly hope things change, because the more the police treat people as violent criminals to be subdued, the more people may begin to see themselves that way, and adapt accordingly.
Isn’t that when it’s time for a change? The world needs a change, and the global pandemic emphasized that and stressed people out. It needs to be OUR country, not THEIR country. They work for us.
We’re talking about a profession that has sued for the right to discriminate against prospective employees who are too intelligent—a lawsuit they won, mind you.
if you have anything you'd like to add please link it!
Edit: obligatory thanks for the gold but this ain't my list I've seen it shared a few times so I don't know who the wonderful person is that put this together..
Please share this as much as possible, let's not allow the atrocities to be swept under the rug like always, keep this right in full view of the world to see and hopefully we can see some positive change.
Condolences to George Floyd and anybody who is close to him or knew him.
One issue this whole shit show has revealed is how oblivious they are to social media. Intimidation and forcing people to stay indoors would have worked decades ago but not now when everyone has access to cameras and the internet. This is only going to further piss people off...
Honestly how hard is it to own up to the fact that the system is broken and they'll do their best to sort it out? We have the tools and the abilities to make somewhat of a fair system but it seems like the ego's of leaders are preventing it.
Every new war is fought using the last war's tactics...
They're stuck in 1999, and still not adapting to the cameras and video streaming. They think more body armor and non-lethal weaponry will solve this. However information is more powerful than body armor, because it can mobilize millions to act in a coordinated way
"Let's go! Let's go!", "Light 'em up!"... What do these guys think they're doing? Playing call of duty? lol
These guys aren't posing any threat at all sitting on their porch. But I guess filming police now warrants getting shot at by rubber bullets or whatever that was.
It’s intimidation. They think that shooting at people on their OWN fucking property’s gonna make people too scared to come out and protest. It won’t work.
From time to time you have your average protest that even sympathizers will hate, mostly because it goes in their way to work or whatever.
But then something happens, and people start protesting for that thing.
Then police crackdown like they always do, but this time the protestors don't dissipate, they continue.
Then the police escalate the matter, and the protestors react in the same way.
Riots start, and in the confusion nobody knows what's happening.
When you realize, it's no longer people protesting for that thing, now people are protesting for even more things.
Then the government concedes the first demand, but it's too late, the people want more. When you realize, it's no longer a movement for the initial cause, that thing was just the last straw.
Now it's a mix between everything people dislike about the government, and they won't stop until they get them.
It happened in Hong Kong, in Chile, in France, in Bolivia, in Iran, in Lebanon. It will happen in the US if the government doesn't concede demands right now.
The government has the golden opportunity right now to stop the movement before it leads to widespread changes (changes that the status quo doesn't want), if Trump or whoever is in charge of that doesn't see it, then they have already lost the war, the war on the people, the war of the peasants.
It will happen in the US if the government doesn't concede demands right now.
Not going to happen. I went through near this exact logic thought process with my wife last night and realized we are in for a summer of riots. This is not about Floyd now. it's about the thousands of other problems that were half quelled that are now being brought to the surface.
Add in population that is 25% (to maybe even 33%) out of work, a population that just had 4 to 6 weeks of being kept inside, a population that realized when shit really went down, we all "sacrificed" together the government response was "here's $1,200 bucks, make it work". Yea, we had a powderkeg of issues and watching a man die for 9 minutes, being refused help, being killed in broad daylight for the world to see broke the dam.
I knew it was bad when Fox News condemned things, but when I saw Gary Vee, a guy who is super a-political, doesn't post controversial 'social justice' stuff because it's not on brand for him post about Floyd's murder I knew the damn broke.
Trump won't give an inch, he can't. He tweeted how we enjoyed watching protesters get pushed back, get his full Authoritarian hard-on going and tweeted his love of it. Then asked his followers to come out for MAGA night (see crazy Bow and Arrow dude in SLC).
I always wondered what the 1960's civil right error would feel like, now I know. They shot peaceful students then, they will shoot peaceful students/moms/brothers/sisters/people now.
Blood will be spilled, but the government under Trump won't relent. The Democrats are offering up nothing at this moment. I'm watching the Republic burn and it pains me, but I also understand why.
Ok, time to go for a walk with my dog, this shit is getting depressing.
EDIT: Thank you for the flair, but I don't need or deserve it, instead if you can give money to a friend or family in need ... or donate to the bail funds in your local city. I don't want or need internet flair or points, I want justice and an equitable society.
It's the cruelty and injustice that's been building across our society. Now we see the worst of it in the most stark embodiment--a man pubicly murdered by the police in broad daylight without even an arrest. If you didn't know what the government is becoming, watch that video again.
Those are "non-lethal" rounds. We practiced with them in training in the Army. You know someone can die from being punched and kicked to death? These work the same. Mag-dump target, they will either be severely injured or dead. Same with CS Gas. The FBI used it after almost a dozen of times it resulted in a fire and death of the people who they were gassing. Especially Waco, Texas, where children were killed with CS Gas or smoke, and them written off as suicides.
Member when like what... a week ago? people were freaking out about how wearing a mask is an infringement on their civil liberties and what not. Just fuck my shit up.
I made this user name as a joke years ago, waiting for the time where I could make a funny remark or two with the name. It is not even a joke anymore. Everything's getting so much worse, so quickly. I feel guilty.
A few months ago when corona started to take off I made a bingo list and I titled it my apocalypse bingo card. Right before the whole toilet paper scare.
I included riots, mass panic and joked that I should write about a purge happening.
Edit 2: Updated Apocalypse bingo card because apparently UFOs were seen a lot recently. For fucks sake, that was meant to be a gag square.
Edit 3: the white horse was meant to be a gag about the fourth horseman and his pale horse who brought death with him. People have sent me pictures of putin or the cop running over people earlier today. This was all supposed to be a gag. I told a friend she was being dramatic, she said I was being stupid. I made this to make fun of her.
Now she’s smug and I apparently doomed us all.
Edit4: I was recently shown a video of a cop riding a white horse trampling people. This was supposed to be a gag about the fourth horseman who rode a pale horse and death followed. I didn’t know he trampled people. That qualifies.
I tried to not add anything that’s already happened and I’ll only mark something if it happens on or after Sunday may 31st. So if X already happened yesterday, then we will have to wait for it to happen again.
We've let them militarize and brutalize for so long that they can't do their jobs anymore. We let these fucking pigs etch their AR's with Punisher logos and now some young people are going to have to die so that people who never have deal with police will shut the fuck up for five seconds so we can clean up the psychotic little boy army we've built.
They're going to kill people tonight and we'll watch it tomorrow.
Edit: multiple people are telling me to post this on its own thread but I don't know how to do that. Please feel free to share and post anywhere you like! This needs to be seen!
Gassed and maced for peaceful protest in Columbus, OH
Edit for more detail: Thousands of us stood outside the State House from 11:00am until sunset. Chanting and having a good time.
Over and over again the same scene unfolded. A single plastic bottle would be thrown from the crowd (at police in full riot gear/helmets with shields), and be met with loud condemnation from the protestors. I saw people being confronted to their face by swarms of protesters telling them “stop giving them a reason.”
The police saw this and they didn’t care. They went masks on and maced and gas the crowd indiscriminately. Those who stood still in defiance got it the worse but even those who ran could feel the gas. Volunteer medics would assist everyone injured, and we would slowly regather and begin chanting again. All day. I’m going again tomorrow.
Edit 2: I forgot to mention. Our City Council President and one of our Federal House Representatives were among those maced. Our cowardly Mayor gave a press conference and failed to even mention this, and instead thanked CPD for “keeping the peace.”
Also they were plastic water bottles. I did not witness any glass bottles nor rocks thrown.
The scariest part of it all is it’s now 5am here and sirens have been going all night, but no live streams or footage going around since about 1-2. Who knows what’s going on
Fuck ok so there’s curfews now? I’ve been following all of this as much as I can because I can’t get it off my mind but I didn’t realise there were curfews.
This is all just so heartbreaking. I am terrified for all of you, I can’t imagine living through something like this and I hope I never have to.
I know America is much bigger than where I live, I understand everything works a lot different but for fucksake it’s clear the people want law enforcement fixed (for lack of a better word) and it just feels like instead of listening to the cries of so many people they are just doubling down and making everything so much worse
Such a stark contrast to Flint where the Sheriff took off his helmet to join the protesters.
It's a shame that such a thing is the odd one out here. Instead of expecting any other police to do the same, we can instead definitely expect more unnecessary brutality.
They're just fanning the flames. I'm really uncertain of how far these protests will continue escalating, considering the police keep giving ammo for what the protest is all about in the first place...
I was at the protest in Dallas for about five minutes and someone next to me got shot right under his eye with something. Apparently I showed up right when police started shooting tear gas, rubber bullets, pepper bullets, etc. I wish I could post a pic of the area I walked up to prior to this guy being shot in the face. Was like 35-50 people not even in a full chant... He was fucked. Blood everywhere. It took 911 a couple minutes to pick up and took the ambulance like 25 ish minutes. We didn’t know if he was going to bleed out or not. We asked the police who just fucking shot us to help him in any way and they just walked towards us in a line with their guns pointed towards us... insanity.
The government wants you to believe they can hurt you with imputiny and that you can do nothing about it. You're watching a wild animal whose power and territory are threatened.
Bud you operated with stricter ROE in hostile fucking war zones than most cops do. Cops aren’t soldiers. And cops like this are thugs on a state paycheck with color shifted military equipment.
This is where the gun rights advocates start feeling pretty fucking vindicated. Can't blame em.
edit: I'm from the UK and I disagree with most gun rights advocates. I was just trying to point out that whenever you hear the "tyrannical government" argument, a lot of people often scoff and laugh it off, but now it's not so easy to do that.
“The Purge” was just a trailer to real life. Except the difference is that it happens everyday and only the police are allowed to commit any crimes without legal consequences.
I was anti gun until Ferguson happened. I saw it firsthand since I live in St Louis and attended a couple protests. If cops can bring ARs to protests why can't I?
And thats the true Free American values we should all have. Well all grow up to learn new truths Get trained, Get armed , Protect yourself and you family. and remember Violence is only the last resort.
Adding fuel to the fire. As more and more of these videos are posted, don't be surprised when people who previously supported the police start switching sides.
Facebook friend knows a nurse at a hospital in MPLS. Said they just got a pre-k aged kid in who’s probably going to end up losing their eye from a tear gas grenade. The kid and their family were picking up trash and litter before curfew and they got tear gassed, and now their child is going to be losing an eye before they even start school.
We got gassed and shot at in Denver before curfew too and no one was even violent. They just rushed up on us and started shooting. This is definitely coordinated by the government. My gf got insane footage I'll link it soon as I can
Thats exactly the one I just watched and my heart stopped. I cant even comprehend what goes through their heads when they do that. Just why? These people are not being aggressive at all and to incite violence like that?
And by that you mean KKK roots and/or getting bought off by the mafia. People like to forget that the FBI was founded to root out Mafia activities even in cities that were fully corrupt.
People are starting to realize "oh shit, I never considered they could do this to me, but now that I see it happening I can see now they could easily do this to me and I won't be able to do anything about that, this unsettles me"
Happened to me, I thought people were joking about shit like this and how they open fired, but when I started to look into it more I realized how fucked up this shit is.
Standing on their own porch, no less. Not like they’re in the street throwing tear gas canisters back at the police. That “light em up” was for having the temerity to not immediately comply and cower in fear from the police. I used to be a big police supporter. The past decade has slowly changed that. The past four days have completely changed it.
Those cops are no better than anyone else. They are equal. Never forget that. If anything, they’re below us, as they are supposed to be public servants.
Try to picture those cops in the video as people, because that’s all they are, people committing heinous crimes.
And it is a bad idea. In cop lingo "cover me" means point your gun at the baddies. As learned in the LA riots in 92, in the military "cover me" means something completely different. A cop yelling "cover me" to the marines present resulted in 200 rounds being pumped into a house
Upon approaching the house, one officer was hit by a shotgun blast of birdshot. He called back to the Marines to cover him. Unfortunately, what "cover" meant to the Marines and to the LAPD were two different things. The officer just wanted the threat of M-16s pointed at the house to keep the shooter from shooting again. The Marines thought the 200 rounds they fired into the house would be enough.
"There's a reason you separate military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people."
Cops in other countries have like a stick and a shield... Your cops have more equipment than most militaries around the world. You know what armies don't do? Listening to what "the other side" has to say.
“There's a reason you separate military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people.” -Cpt. Lee 'Apollo' Adama
What is legal and what is right do not always align. Even if this was allowed (I don't believe it is) its still overreaching and wrong. We should have the same reaction regardless of legality.
Would reddit flock to the citizen that decided to shoot back or would they condemn them as a gun toting kook? Because up until maybe 72 hours ago the question would have been rhetorical.
The problem is the word could here, what we should be saying Is “this should start a movement”. Anyone watching these videos and not realizing we have a police problem is the most naive person in America.
Thank you for posting! This is what I've been telling people is going on here. On all the news channels, all you see is media reporting that "tonight's a good night" and the national guard takeover "is working". The real picture here is that the state has essentially pulled a fascist military takeover. They started gassing & shooting peaceful protesters even before curfew began, and are using this curfew rule to go full aggro on anyone they see, even people on their own property as seen here. They ruthlessly & proudly attacked protesters to push them off the main streets until they fled into neighborhoods, and now they're patrolling neighborhoods and shooting anything that moves. Even reporters have been fair game and the cops & guard don't care about any rights to journalism & recording what's going on. The saddest part is that every journalist I've seen so far is completely kowtowing to them and not saying at all they have a RIGHT to be out and report. The media & authorities are completely united on messaging and saying the massive show of force is 100% good, there are no problems with it except that it didn't happen earlier, and that the police are right when they tell them to leave.
This more than anything has taught me that we cannot trust the media or any politicians. Klobuchar went on CNN and lied to everyone about the protests today.
I think this is the worst America has been in ages. Firing at people standing on their own porches is a step towards authoritarianism I did not expect.
Edit to elaborate on this:
In the past few weeks we've seen the powers that be abuse that power, leading to the unjustified deaths of people they are supposed to protect. The sitting president took absolutely no time to blame it all on the left, threaten protesters with dogs and violence, and is now praising the police for how they're conducting themselves despite them OPENING FIRE ON CITIZENS ON THEIR OWN PROPERTY.
This all comes after months of internal bickering and non-action concerning the coronavirus, unemployment rising to near unseen levels, and all the while we're learning that the whole system we live under falls apart after the first sign of trouble.
Re-fucking-diculous. If there was a PR book on how to gain community trust, this city has burned it. Kill a guy. And slowly with people watching and on film. Congratulate yourself on charging him in record time even though it’s absolutely obvious and should have happened about two minutes after the event. Have no solution to rioting and looting. Start shooting civilians on their own property while screaming as if you are in total control. These people are absolutely absurd. Gun sales are going to shoot through the roof in the near future. The government has absolutely no reason to treat its citizens like this.
People just aren't familiar with the difference between the two. People suspect that MP's would be dressed like police, their vests are similar, but with 2 lines and MP's still wear multicam... Only post security(contractors) wears black uniforms, at least at Bragg and Hood.
Military police have
"Military
Police"
(2 lines)On their vests, not "police".
They also wear camouflage outfit with a black vest, or a regular camo vest, with an "MP" patch, left arm.
The ones in front of the vehicle and in the vehicle are Army National Guard, the ones in all black are all cops, and their vests only have one line, even through the fuzziness is clearly just "police"
I've always been of the opinion that the 2nd amendment is important because it would allow us to do what it was intended to do: overthrow a tyrannical government. People always laughed, and I'd agree sometimes, because the government has tanks, missiles, aircraft, etc. But I'd always say that the men and women in the military would never attack their family, friends, towns, cities, schools, etc.
At this point I fear the police more than I do getting killed by a terrorist or a burglar. I think it’s time to get a gun just Incase this government decides to
Kill us all.
Doesn't matter. Even if plain-clothed police enter your home unannounced in a no-knock warrant, if you defend your home, they'll charge you with attempted murder of an officer.

This gave me prison flashbacks. You're no longer citizens in their eyes. Please be careful.
Never been but watched enough documentaries to see how that stare down normally plays out
It begins exactly like this.

That’s fucking scary. Well said.

Isn’t that when it’s time for a change? The world needs a change, and the global pandemic emphasized that and stressed people out. It needs to be OUR country, not THEIR country. They work for us.

"Light em up"

Jesus H Christ. This is not a fucking video game. I really question the maturity level of the average cop and national guard soldiers out there
The national guard is literally composed of weekend warriors.

We’re talking about a profession that has sued for the right to discriminate against prospective employees who are too intelligent—a lawsuit they won, mind you.

However information is more powerful than body armor, because it can mobilize millions to act in a coordinated way
This is a high quality comment
...
...
I really hope you're right. But my largest concern is that people are going to fall into line and this will all blow over in a week or two.
Worse, there are going to be a bunch of new laws designed to prevent this type of unrest from happening again.
...
...
...
"Let's go! Let's go!", "Light 'em up!"... What do these guys think they're doing? Playing call of duty? lol
These guys aren't posing any threat at all sitting on their porch. But I guess filming police now warrants getting shot at by rubber bullets or whatever that was.
LARPers.
LAPDers
...
...
It’s intimidation. They think that shooting at people on their OWN fucking property’s gonna make people too scared to come out and protest. It won’t work.
Just the opposite in fact. This is going to get worse
It's always the same.
The moment it spread out of Minneapolis is when it became evident to me that this is about more than just Floyd
The three big ones in rapid succession, Ahmaud/Breonna/George, are probably a big part of it too.

Yup - Linda Tirado, a photojournalist lost her left eye PERMANENTLY last night to one of those non lethal rounds.
Just like in Hong kong

around here they've started using the term "less-lethal" instead of "non-lethal". still deadly force, just less so.

Hindsight is 2020
This comment just gave me the chills. I know it’s just a saying but it seems like it carries a lot of weight right now.
2020 is about to bring a lot of clarity.
It’s not that funny anymore.
Edit: people have asked. Here’s the apocalypse bingo card
I guess I got a bingo.
I made a new Apocalypse bingo Card
I tried to not add anything that’s already happened and I’ll only mark something if it happens on or after Sunday may 31st. So if X already happened yesterday, then we will have to wait for it to happen again.
Was Anon on that list? They came out of the woodwork to play a video against the police.

Now that this has finally arrived in what looks like the suburbs things might finally change.

We got gassed and shot at in Denver too. We were non violent and it was before curfew. 7:30 min mark it gets crazy https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10103578564704823&id=38207566

Gas and salt in Dallas today too.

Cincinnati protests
You see the cop spray someone on the ground in the face. Didnt move or anything, he bends down and sprays their face
The scariest part of it all is it’s now 5am here and sirens have been going all night, but no live streams or footage going around since about 1-2. Who knows what’s going on
Because cops are shooting at the media too.

In Seattle they announced that there's now a 5pm curfew
At 4:45pm
...
...
YES i was there for that bullshit too! Nothing but peaceful protesting and they decided to tear gas us
Such a stark contrast to Flint where the Sheriff took off his helmet to join the protesters.
Notice, too, how in Flint and KCMO it didn’t turn violent. Police joined protesters, and everything remained completely peaceful
...
...
We asked the police who just fucking shot us to help him in any way and they just walked towards us in a line with their guns pointed towards us... insanity.
...
Gassed before curfew in Portland, too.

same here in Arkansas. skip to 7:15

Same here. I always thought Americans were nutjobs when they ranted about constantly protecting themselves from their government. Welp I was wrong.

Wasn't that the point of the ammendment? To give the people a way to arm themselves in case the government becomes fascist?

Shooting you on your own front porch? What the fuck kind of martial law ass America is this. This is way wrong.
It won't be long before people start shooting back.
People have a natural, inherent right to defend themselves against someone who attacks them with no provocation, regardless of who it is.
These cops were not acting in self defense; they are the ones who initiated violence against innocent civilians on their own property.
All of a sudden, the pro gun rights people seem to be making sense.
I was anti gun until Ferguson happened. I saw it firsthand since I live in St Louis and attended a couple protests. If cops can bring ARs to protests why can't I?
And thats the true Free American values we should all have. Well all grow up to learn new truths Get trained, Get armed , Protect yourself and you family. and remember Violence is only the last resort.
...
Reddit is so close on this. The government is not your friend. Arm yourselves, they don’t care about protecting you.

MARTIAL. It's martial law.

Adding fuel to the fire. As more and more of these videos are posted, don't be surprised when people who previously supported the police start switching sides.
Thats where I'm headed. I've seen too many videos lately, I'm horrified. This isn't the media sharing false information or exaggerating circumstances.
Theyre going after citizens and their right to assemble. They're hurting people who have the right to be heard regardless of their views.
I will not commend the looting or the destruction but officers took an OATH and many of them are failing to honor that badge.
[deleted]
We got gassed and shot at in Denver before curfew too and no one was even violent. They just rushed up on us and started shooting. This is definitely coordinated by the government. My gf got insane footage I'll link it soon as I can

Thats exactly the one I just watched and my heart stopped. I cant even comprehend what goes through their heads when they do that. Just why? These people are not being aggressive at all and to incite violence like that?
The mask is off in a lot of ways. The history of police, especially in America, does not have good roots
And by that you mean KKK roots and/or getting bought off by the mafia. People like to forget that the FBI was founded to root out Mafia activities even in cities that were fully corrupt.

“light em up,” he says. sick fuck
Saying light em up against your own countrymen/woman wtffffff
Standing on their own porch, no less. Not like they’re in the street throwing tear gas canisters back at the police. That “light em up” was for having the temerity to not immediately comply and cower in fear from the police. I used to be a big police supporter. The past decade has slowly changed that. The past four days have completely changed it.
...
Those cops are no better than anyone else. They are equal. Never forget that. If anything, they’re below us, as they are supposed to be public servants.
Try to picture those cops in the video as people, because that’s all they are, people committing heinous crimes.

Police: "Look at these people who think they're better than us. Show them who's boss."

And people on Twitter are saying "well you should have gotten inside your home".
Unbelievable.
Bootlickers and trolls.
This could spill into a massive rights movement
If they keep acting like thugs they're going to piss off the 40 million unemployed
The problem is the word could here, what we should be saying Is “this should start a movement”. Anyone watching these videos and not realizing we have a police problem is the most naive person in America.
You're absolutely right

So did the Minnesota governor.

Everyone’s basic rights and freedoms are slowly going away

Is America great yet?
Everything about this is fucked.
...
I’m gonna go ahead and say no
...
...
“Light them up” or whatever he said. Fuck off.
...
Absolute abuse of power. Take this video and escalate it as far as you possibly can. Holy fuck.

"When fascism comes to America it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying the cross"

Why are you calling out the National guard? They didn’t shoot at you. It was the police. Not the guard.
People just aren't familiar with the difference between the two. People suspect that MP's would be dressed like police, their vests are similar, but with 2 lines and MP's still wear multicam... Only post security(contractors) wears black uniforms, at least at Bragg and Hood.
Those things you said are definitely words, but I don't know what any of them mean.
Military police have "Military Police" (2 lines)On their vests, not "police".

“Light em up!!” The cop says about AMERICAN CITIZENS.. shit is gonna get so much worse....

Fucked up
I've always been of the opinion that the 2nd amendment is important because it would allow us to do what it was intended to do: overthrow a tyrannical government. People always laughed, and I'd agree sometimes, because the government has tanks, missiles, aircraft, etc. But I'd always say that the men and women in the military would never attack their family, friends, towns, cities, schools, etc.
This video makes me question that.
...
What the fuck?! On your own property?! That's unbelievable
...
At this point I fear the police more than I do getting killed by a terrorist or a burglar. I think it’s time to get a gun just Incase this government decides to Kill us all.
Over 1,000 people killed last year by cops in the US.
It’s Far far far more likely you will he killed by a cop than a terrorist.

It's Second Amendment time. And I don't even own a gun
Head over to r/liberalgunowners. I've been mentioning all over Facebook, one group doesn't get a monopoly when it comes to the 2A

Imagine being on your own private property, and this shit happens to you by some fuckwad cop with a massive ego and an 85 IQ.
Absolutly sickening, something needs to change.

Does one of them say “light ‘em up” at around the :17 mark?
Jesus
...
I really need more details on this. how the fuck do you get shot at on your own property? Do Stand your ground rules apply?
Doesn't matter. Even if plain-clothed police enter your home unannounced in a no-knock warrant, if you defend your home, they'll charge you with attempted murder of an officer.
